Connected Places Catapult (CPC) aimed to investigate and evaluate the readiness, viability, and feasibility of introducing two-wheeler EV rental services in the Indian market. This ultimate goal of the research was to provide insights for UK-based startups interested in entering the Indian market and establishing their businesses by exploring opportunities in two-wheeler EV rentals.
Approach
In-depth conversations provided insights into users' contexts and backgrounds, shedding light on their views regarding sustainability and decision-making factors like cost effectiveness versus environmental concerns. Leveraging Day In the Life Of (DILO) helped us understand daily mobility needs, challenges, and frustrations of the users. Understanding the mobility needs of diverse user groups—from homemakers to gig workers—revealed varied usage scenarios and gaps in the current journey, while in-situ observations further illuminated EV usage patterns.
